Tank Bigsby took a first quarter kickoff and headed up the field with gumption. He was quickly hit, concussed, and thereby departed the game. It was a simple answer to the question “what happened to Bigsby?”, that you might have also wondered aloud, like I did when looking at the boxscore between the Browns and Jaguars.
Sadly, that was the highlight of the week for our fake fantasy team - “THE WINDOW Express” - made up of player props at each position, because it provided one viable excuse amongst a bunch of losing tickets.
How did our “fantasy team” do last week?
We got killed. Guys got hurt. The coach is an idiot. If only the one guy caught the one pass that was right in his hands.
3-7 (-4.7 units)
QB1: Will Levis: Under 205.5 passing yards (+100 at Pinnacle)
Averaging just 5.3 yards per attempt
Packers held fellow second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson to 204 on 35 attempts last week
With Levis’s turnover issues, Titans should rein-in pass plays
QB2: Bo Nix: Over 18.5 rushing yards (-113 at FanDuel)
35 rushing yards in Week 1 on just five carries
25 rushing yards in Week 2 on just four carries
Broncos’ offense struggling, should look to use Nix legs more
Week 1: Jayden Daniels, confused by Todd Bowles defense, took off 16 times
WR1: Chris Olave: Over 61.5 receiving yards (-113 at FanDuel)
Only targeted eight times in first two games, both blowouts
Played less than 80% of snaps, with backups in late
Market has crossed pick’em making Saints the favorite, but should be a close game
More incentive to throw
No one allowing more yards per completion than Eagles’ secondary
WR2: George Pickens: Over 48.5 receiving yards (-115 at Bet365)
First home game should be more comfortable for offensive communication
Lined at 45.5 regularly last season, finished the year going over in six of last seven games
Had just 29 yards last week, but had 50+ yards (and a touchdown) cancelled out due to Steelers’ penalties and drew pass interference penalties on Patrick Surtain
WR3: Nelson Agholor: Over 11.5 receiving yards (-102 at Pinnacle)
Three targets last week, 13-yard reception
Went over 11.5 receiving yards in seven of final nine games in 2023
2023: First season with Ravens
Includes both playoff games
Cowboys allowed 22.1 yards per reception to Saints’ wide receivers last week
RB1: Jerome Ford: Under 48.5 rushing yards (-110 at Bet365)
Went from 75% of snaps in Week 1 loss to just 44% in Week 2 win
Had just seven carries against Jacksonville compared to D’Onta Foreman’s 14
Went over 48.5 yards in just six of 15 games last season after taking over starting tailback duties when Nick Chubb got hurt
Giants allowed 200+ rushing yards to Washington last week
Should be a point of focus for defense in practice
RB2: D’Andre Swift: Under 59.5 rushing yards (-110 at Bet365)
Followed a 10-carry, 30-yard Week 1 game with a 18 yards on 14 carries
The Bears’ offensive line is terrible
Yardage total was set at 44.5 in the first two games
Colts will be missing Deforest Buckner (best pass rusher) and JuJu Brents (starting cornerback), but Grover Stewart (run-stuffing tackle) is still on the defensive line
Swift better used in the passing game
TE: Brock Bowers: Over 4.5 receptions (-120 at Bet365)
Targeted eight times in first-career game
Caught six
Targeted nine times last week
Caught all nine
32.4% of Panthers’ opponents’ pass completions have been made by tight ends
Panthers’ opponents haven’t need to throw much, but with Andy Dalton starting, this game should be competitive longer
FLEX: De’Von Achane: Over 26.5 receiving yards (-110 at Betano)
Seven receptions in each of first two games
Skylar Thompson threw four passes to Achane in two drives after coming in for injured Tua Tagovailoa last week
Raheem Mostert unlikely to play
SUPER-FLEX: Marvin Harrison Jr.: Under 62.5 receiving yards (-105 at Pinnacle)
Rams no-show - losing by 31 - complicit in allowing 130 yards to Harrison on just four receptions
Rams’ top cornerback missed game
Lions’ coaching staff smart enough to focus on Cardinals’ new star
Veteran Carlton Davis to cover Harrison
BONUS:
RATS (Round-robin Anytime Touchdown Scoring) Parlay:
Alec Pierce (+400)
Brock Bowers (+240)
Justin Fields (+220)
