PRETTY GOOD DAY (1.21.25)

Ryan’s Buckeye$ win, the real story around the bad beat on Saturday (+ how we avoided it all), and coin-flips games on a wild Sunday in the NFL

Matt Russell (@mrussauthentic on X) looks back at the NFL’s Divisional Round, where the wrong play is getting credited for a bad beat for Texans’ backers, and how we avoided it all with some astute betting strategy. The Lions blow their best-ever season thanks to turnovers that cost them in the neighborhood of 15-18 points. Jake Elliott stung Eagles’ backers, but there was more than enough opportunity to avoid that live. Plus, the Ravens commit three turnovers, have no answer for the Bills’ gameplan, and STILL are a dropped pass away from potentially going to overtime.

Then Matt takes a quick look back at a pretty lame National Championship game, as Ohio State dominates Notre Dame, only to see that point spread come into question late as well.

Some “fun” high-leverage/variance NFL stats:

While teams we bet on went 4-for-5 on 4th down compared to 7-for-9 against, they lost the collective turnover margin 8-2 (22-8 for the playoffs), and missed two field goals and three extra points (compared to one missed field goal against).

Plus, SEVEN college basketball bets for Tuesday night?!? The Madness is coming… eventually.

It’s time to head to THE WINDOW, let’s go!
